Design Thinking and Christian Education: Creative Education Model in Church

“Design Thinking” is a creative thinking process proposed by The Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford; the d.School, which advocates the use of empathy and innovative thinking to explore better solutions to existing problems.

In the education field, it has also developed into a global creative education movement called “Design For Change”. The simplified FIDS model helped young people learn to become more motivated, creative and kind person to make change to their community. 

In fact, the elements of “creative change” can be seen everywhere in the Bible and are closely related to Christian’s faith practice. Therefore, if pastors and leaders of the church can properly apply the model of “Design Thinking” in church education, they will surely bring renewal and growth in church setting
