The STEAM project “Mission Planet Earth” was carried out with students from 5th grade of Primary School, the objective was to build prototypes with recycled material to help families in remote and low-income neighbourhoods, given the problem of drought and low water level of the Paraná River, which is the main supplier of drinking water and electricity in the province. These prototypes were built on a smaller scale with the idea of being able to replicate them in the homes that need them. It was a great collaborative work between families and schools, the devices built were a lamp with an electric circuit and water with salt as a conductor of electricity, a solar spotlight, a small solar oven and an Ecomuro rainwater collector.
The project is still in progress so that in 2022 we will be able to bring small solutions to the most remote neighbourhoods that have little supply of drinking water and electricity. This project empowers students and makes them the protagonists of their learning, develops creativity, teamwork, solidarity, learning by doing and above all encourages them to be leaders of today and tomorrow.
