International Day of Education – Highlights

Organisateur: #LearningPlanet

Opening the day and echoing the recently published UNESCO report “Rethinking our futures together: a new social contract for education”, this roundtable brings together emblematic actors from civil society and the world of education to share their perspectives on what education could and should be in the 21st century.
In light of all the challenges we currently face, how can we build more inclusive and forward-looking collective narratives around learning that allow everyone to better take care of themselves, others and the planet? How can we build together a learning society that is better able to solve the complex challenges that are emerging? What are the core priorities for reinventing learning throughout life and some concrete actions that should be implemented in the near future?

It has been over 2 years since the outbreak of COVID-19, a global crisis that impacted everyone’s life. For people in many parts of the world, this pandemic is yet another weight on top of already existing crises. Putting more pressure on society, essential services, and everyone’s – especially young people’s – mental well-being.

Join us for this special session created by and for educators from around the world, looking at the importance of whole child development and mental well-being for learning and development. How have these two essential aspects of education been impacted by the pandemic? What have students and teachers been confronted with during this crisis? And how do we move forward from here?
