Planting seeds of Hope in learning practices for the flourishing of the Earth

buen-vivir2-001

Our workshop entitled “Planting seeds of Hope for the flourishing of the Earth : how to cultivate a Culture of Care in learning communities” illustrates the Theories and Practices inspiring our ecological humanities courses. We will give some illustrations of transformative learning practices at Paul Valéry University (Montpellier, France) based on a social emotional ecological learning and we will invite the participants to share their practices and vision.
Through the deep exploration of the ecological ethic of care, students are led to understand and to embody the concept of interdependence at all levels: singularity, group and system.
In the era of the socio-ecological transition, it is vitally important to develop the awareness of the non-separation between humans and living ecosystems in order to build an Ecological Self firmly rooted in the web of life.
This new vision implies a shift of paradigm : therefore, the teachings will create the appropriate space for change.
