Storytelling for the Planet: An Introduction to Environmental Reporting
Are you a young person with something to say? Do you want to inspire others with your storytelling?
This interactive virtual workshop will introduce the fundamentals of journalistic storytelling using News Decoder’s process for creating interesting and engaging stories for a global audience, with a focus on climate reporting.
You’ll learn how to identify a potential story and find sources to interview, and get advice on conducting interviews and telling a compelling story. Then you can use those skills to report on the Festival, or spotlight a climate champion who has made a significant impact to help save the planet.
You’ll leave the workshop a better researcher and a better communicator, skills that will serve you in school and beyond as an informed global “Planetizen.”
News Decoder is a global news service that teaches journalistic and media literacy skills for young people around the world to engage with international issues. Learn more at news-decoder.com.
