Gamified and Experiential Learning towards Compassionate Youth Eco-Leadership
EcoManka transforms the way eco-sustainable values are taught in high schools by creating an interactive student-selected community centred curriculum that generates social entrepreneurship amongst its beneficiaries. We use gamified experiential eco-learning tools designed for local youth to become civically active towards neighbourhood related problems thus increasing overall direct volunteering activities.
We test whether behavioural change can be enacted via virtual gamified digital storytelling methods or whether experiential learning direct support is needed to activate youth engagement.
With the use of XR technologies through Augmented reality, the students will experience pleasure and pain through the game play unleashing empathy while building an eco-compassionate leadership personality. We hypothesize that current needs to answer nature’s social, and environmental challenges are similar among all communities, and could be tackled by using technology, game-art, education.
