Group Discussion: Sustainable Development

AGENDA

The event will be conducted in two phases –

AUCTION ROUND
First off, all the participants will be divided into groups of 5 or 6. Before beginning with the GD round, the participants will be introduced with WILD CARDS. A wild card is essentially a tool with special abilities that the players could use during the group discussion round. Two types of wildcards are –

● Wild card 1 – 30 sec without interruptions
● Wild card 2 – Change the topic at one’s will

GROUP DISCUSSION
The group discussion will be conducted in three rounds of 4-5 minutes each with the gap of 30 to 40 sec between each round. Each round will have a separate topics:
The efficiency of SDGs
Should India follow CBDR
Effectiveness of Climate Change Conferences and the way forward for undeveloped countries.

An individual who is in charge of the round's smooth operation will moderate the group discussion.

Judging Criteria:
In the auction round- the amount of unused or saved tokens.
In the group discussion round – content and relevance, and style and delivery.

Finally, while calculating an individual’s aggregate, more weightage would be given to the performance of the 2nd Round.
