The LearningPlanet Festival was launched by Learning Planet Institute and L'UNESCO on 24 January 2020.

There are different ways in which you can become an official partner of the Festival.
- For sponsoring, contact Partnerships Manager Leonora Dowley.
- For media partnerships, please contact Communications Project Manager Réka Lodinsky.
- For any other specific event partnerships, contact Community Engagement Manager Pauline Laravoire.
As the LearningPlanet Festival is distributed and co-created with hundreds of partners, we are not able to offer any financial support for events.
Given the number of events, each partner organisation is in charge of communicating about its own activities as part of the Festival.
A communications kit including templates, posts, hashtags and announcements in English and French will be shared with you in the near future, so that you can reach out to your communities well in advance.
All formats of sessions are accepted at the Festival. We recommend your session be as interactive as possible. Possible formats include master classes, round tables, interactive workshops, hackathons, games, artistic, sportive and well-being activities, concerts, exhibitions, etc.
The majority of online sessions, as well as the communication for the Festival, will be in English or French. However, you are welcome to organise an online event in any language of your choosing. Local events can be organised in any language.
By planning an event during the Festival and actively taking part in the programme you will:
- access a global community of passionate educators and changemakers,
- network with peers and like-minded learning communities,
- share ideas and experiences,
- experiment new ways of learning, teaching, mobilising collective intelligence,
- get the opportunity to discover and/or present inspiring initiatives/solutions,
- contribute to the global education agenda.
Yes! Not only is the Festival an open event, but it is 100% co-constructed by the LearningPlanet Alliance and beyond.
You can get a free ticket and join the Festival as a participant or contribute actively by organising an online session or a local event with your community throughout the week of 24 – 28 January. If you are interested in setting up an event, keep an eye out for the form, coming later in October.
On 3 December 2018, the United Nations General Assembly adopted with consensus a resolution proclaiming 24 January as International Day of Education, in celebration of the role of education for peace and development.
By doing so, the international community reiterated that education plays a key role in building sustainable and resilient societies, and contributes to the achievement of all other Sustainable Development Goals as it dedicated a special day to celebrate education worldwide.
UNESCO, as the specialised United Nations agency for education, facilitates the annual observance of the Day in close collaboration with main education actors.

The Festival unites a diverse community of passionate learners of all ages and countries – youth, teachers, educators, artists, scientists, social entrepreneurs, policymakers and more – to share ideas and experiences, showcase inspiring solutions, and feel empowered to come together around shared challenges.
Organisations (schools, universities, associations, NGOs, local authorities, etc.) are welcome to host their own activities and sessions.
The Festival will take place all around the world featuring both online and local on-site activities from 24 to 28 January 2023, surrounding the celebration of the International Day of Education on 24 January 2023.
Organised around the celebration of the International Day of Education (24 January), the Festival welcomes everyone who is passionate about learning and provides them a space to interact, engage and collaborate. Its purpose is to provide an open platform to celebrate and share projects and achievements with a global community and to co-create better futures together.
