Manolya Tanyu is a community psychologist and prevention researcher with 15 years of expertise in evaluation of school- and community-based interventions to prevent risk behaviors and promote youth development. Dr. Tanyu’s content expertise includes youth mentoring, youth violence prevention programming, positive youth development practices in schools and communities, and social
emotional learning. Dr. Tanyu is skilled in multi-level, mixed-methods evaluations and assessments in communities as well as presenting and providing technical assistance to diverse stakeholders to build evaluation and data capacity, and systems change. She is a certified CrimeSolutions.gov reviewer and a Research Board Member for the National Mentoring Resource Center. Dr. Tanyu’s most recent projects include the Evaluation of the National Reach & Rise Cognitive Behavioral Mentoring Study, Center for Coordinated Assistance to the States, Educational Outcomes of Students Experiencing Adversity/Trauma, Gang Desistance in Honduras and Guatemala, and Violence Prevention Assessment in Colombia.
