
Simón is a musician, cultural manager and pedagogue from Bogotá, Colombia. Director of MasterPeace Bogotá. He studied drum technique, harmony, drums and composition at the Higher Institute of Arts and at the Center for the Research of Cuban Music in Cuba. He has been a musician with Colombian groups such as TumbaCatre, Atlantic Soul Machine, Radio Rebelde and La Real Charanga and Víctor Hugo Pacific Soul. He was director of the artistic and content areas within the 40X40 program of the Bogotá Mayor’s Office, which aimed to include art within the curricular plan of public schools. In 2016 he joined the communications team of Paz a la Calle, a citizen movement that managed to recover and establish, along with other citizen and institutional initiatives, the Peace Agreements of the National Government of Colombia and the FARC. In 2016 he was appointed Director of MasterPeace Colombia developing to date more than 15 projects working with victims of forced displacement with artistic tools to create networks of support and development of new communities. Creator of the spiral methodology in 2019, implemented within the Dance For Healing research project in order to strengthen participation and strengthen the social fabric.
