Alumni of prestigious Indian Institutes such as Indian Statistical Institutes and Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Baibhab is a committed, multi-faceted environmentalist whose efforts have helped reduce human-elephant conflicts, develop model villages, offset carbon footprints, end plastic pollution and increase the green cover in West Bengal State. He formed Uttarayan Wildlife Wing and Uncarbon to restore degraded forest, monocropped areas and fallow lands into resilient ecosystems. One of their ambitious initiatives is to clean up plastic waste from the Critical ecosystem of Sundarbans Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage site, with villagers aiding and facilitating plastic waste collection and recycling.
