Madison Mitchell

Maddy is the Co-Founder & Co-Director of The 50 Percent, an international collection of young people who, in partnership with Penn State University Sustainability Institute and the Club of Rome believe that every young person – regardless of their economic, social, or cultural situation, should contribute to the policies that impact their future.

She graduated from Penn State University in May 2021 where she studied Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management which has allowed her to continue to explore and expand her passions for community development and social justice. She became passionate about this work after spending nine months in South America before university, where she interacted with many rural and Indigenous communities, learning about local issues. This experience challenged her beliefs and allowed her to see how communities globally were governed and take part in relationships that transcended borders.
